Fibo 2.0: Open-Weight Image Edit (CC BY-NC)

Fibo 2.0 is Bria’s unified image-editing and text-to-image family. Official hosts we opened on 2026-10-22: the gated cards briaai/Fibo-2.0-dev (created 2026-10-18T13:44:10Z; 101 likes / 396 downloads) and briaai/Fibo-2.0-edit-turbo (created 2026-10-19T13:11:51Z; 85 likes / 310 downloads), the launch note Fibo 2 is live, and the license link CC BY-NC 4.0. Weight files themselves are gated: auto — the public card text was readable; a raw fetch of README/assets returned 401.

This page is a spoke from open Midjourney-class alternatives and Photoshop alternatives. Those hubs name product classes. We do not claim Midjourney or Photoshop quality, and we do not call Fibo 2.0 “fully open source” or “free for commercial use.”

Copied from the public cards (2026-10-22):

The cards describe training on long structured captions through Visual GenAI Language (VGL), “trained exclusively on licensed data,” and a coming multi-turn edit mode. Those sentences are upstream. Adjectives such as “most controllable” stay vendor.

Artificial Analysis rank (labeled)

Bria’s Dev card and the 20 October 2026 docs post claim #1 open-weights image editing and #2 open-weights text-to-image on Artificial Analysis Image Arena. That is vendor-cited / third-party. forkalt has not reproduced the arena. It is not a ranking against Midjourney, Ideogram, or Photoshop.

How to run (from the public cards, not tested)

The Dev card names a Diffusers BriaFibo2Pipeline, VGL prompts, 50 steps, guidance 5.0, and optional fonts. Edit Turbo is the few-step production editor. Hosted paths named on the cards: Bria API / Create, Fal.ai bria/fibo-2/generate and bria/fibo-2/edit, Hugging Face Spaces, and Bria ComfyUI nodes. Accept the gate before a local download. forkalt has not loaded the weights.

Not a pixel editor

If you need layers, masks, and PSD/XCF rather than a generative edit model, use PhotoCraft or GIMP — PhotoCraft vs GIMP. PhotoCraft is early alpha; the docs-based outline is How to install PhotoCraft. Layout/templates: Canva alternatives. Local UIs that load checkpoints you provide: ComfyUI and Fooocus on the Midjourney hub.
